Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana (born 13 July 2007) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right winger for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team. Known for his pace, dribbling, passing, crossing ability, and ability to strike powerful long-range shots, he is widely regarded as one of the best young footballers in the world.
Yamal came through La Masia, Barcelona’s youth academy, and made his competitive debut at age of 16 in August 2023.

The Tactical Failure:
The Urban Ice Trap: Central Park is not the Arctic. It is an "Urban Heat Island." The water underneath is often moving or slightly warmer due to city infrastructure, making the ice thickness inconsistent. The "Red Flags" were up for a reason.
The Breakthrough: At 0:03, the skater hits a "grey zone" (rotten ice). The structural integrity fails instantly. Note how he doesn't just fall; he submerges. This indicates the ice was likely less than 2 inches thick—suicidally thin for skating.
The Rescue (What They Did Right):
Weight Distribution: The rescuer in the blue shirt immediately drops to his stomach. This increases his surface area, reducing the pressure (PSI) on the remaining ice. If he had walked over, he would have fallen in too.
The Extension Tool: They used the hockey stick to reach the victim. This follows the Golden Rule of water rescue: "Reach, Throw, Row, Go." Never touch the victim with your hands if you can reach them with an object. The victim grabs the stick, and they drag him onto the solid shelf.
Educational Note (Ice Safety Protocol):
Visual Check: Clear/Blue is strong. White/Opaque is weak (air bubbles). Grey is dead (rotten/melting).
The 4-Inch Rule: If it's less than 4 inches (10cm) of clear ice, stay off.
If You Fall: Do not stand up. Kick your legs to get horizontal, slide onto your stomach like a seal, and ROLL away towards the shore. Rolling distributes your weight better than crawling.
