Scientists at the RAI Institute built a bike-shaped robot that does front flips and jumps down staircases. But they never programmed the moves by hand.
Instead they let it fail over and over in a virtual world. Every simulated crash taught it something new. Every virtual faceplant made it smarter.
After a million practice runs the robot stepped outside and crushed every trick on the first real-world attempt.
