We call it their legislative agenda — it’s what they believe matters most for the people of Connecticut. Here’s the quick breakdown: 🔵 Senate Democrats Centered on affordability — targeted tax relief, expanded credits for families and caregivers, increased school funding, expanded health coverage subsidies, stronger consumer privacy and AI protections, and limits on private equity in areas like housing and health care. 🔴 House & Senate Republicans Centered on accountability — tighter oversight of state spending and bonding, expanded audit authority, a proposed civil Inspector General, and stronger transparency rules around how taxpayer dollars are used. Right now, these are just ideas — not laws. But they signal where political energy is headed. And that’s how session direction starts to take shape. You can find it on the CGA website: cga.ct.gov Some of the legislation that the CT General Assembly might consider this year would address energy prices, flooding, and absentee voting.
