Most swimmers think “core training” means chasing the burn with endless crunches and sit-ups. 🔥 But your core isn’t just your abs, it’s the link that transfers force between your upper and lower body. Every kick, pull, and breath depends on how efficiently you connect those chains. When you learn to brace, breathe, and stabilize under movement, you create a powerful bridge between hips and shoulders. That’s what keeps your stroke long, efficient, and fast through the water. Start with control and coordination before adding load. 🎯 Build strength that actually transfers, not just burns. That’s how you generate more power per stroke and hold your bodyline when it counts. 💪🌊 👉 Comment “ABS” if you want to train your core like a swimmer, not a crunch machine.

5 minutes. That’s it. 30s assisted in and outs Lower abs + hip flexors. These muscles work together to stabilize the pelvis, not just lift the legs. 30s side plank Trains obliques and QL. One of the best moves for lateral core and low back stability. 30s low plank Targets the deep core. A strong transverse abdominis helps control spinal motion. 30s flutter kicks 30s toe touches 30s crunches Controlled flexion builds core endurance when done pain free. 30s single leg hip thrust Offsets all the flexion. Strong glutes support the spine and protect your low back. Core training is not just abs. It is spine control, hip stability, and balance. Save this and try it.

If you want: • better posture • a strong lower belly • injury-free training • REAL abs, not just visual ones You need to train your core with intention, not randomly. HOW TO DO IT RIGHT ⬇️ 1️⃣ Slow the movement down Momentum kills progress. Control builds strength. 2️⃣ Breathe with purpose Exhale on effort. Feel your deep core activate. 3️⃣ Quality > quantity 10 perfect reps beat 50 sloppy ones. 4️⃣ Progress step by step Master the basics → then move to advanced exercises. 5️⃣ Be consistent Core is not trained once a week. 10 Banded Core Exercises for Strength & Stability If you want to run faster, jump higher, and lift heavier, your trunk has to transfer force not leak it. Core training isn’t about chasing a burn. It’s about resisting extension, rotation, and lateral collapse under speed and load. Bands increase tension and challenge positioning so the trunk has to stabilize while the hips and shoulders move. These are patterns I rotate through programs to develop: • Anti-extension strength• Anti-rotation control• Lateral stability• Trunk stiffness under movement Strong trunk. Better force transfer. CORE 🔥🔥🔥 The best core exercise you *might* not be doing: The CARRY! This move is so functional—how many things do we carry during our days between groceries, kids, pets, bags, boxes— you’re already doing this move! But it’s also such a great way to train our core through stability. Our core muscles main job is to stabilize the spine throughout all our movement, and core stability exercises are a key part of our ab training. Dynamic movements and “ab exercises” are great, too, but if we don’t train for stability, we are missing important strength building, as well as core definition! As you can see here, there are so many ways to do carries: single weight, low, racked, high. offset, walking or marching. No need to aim for your own bodyweight (although that is a good goal to work up to) but go HEAVY! You’ll be surprised at how much more you’ll feel your core when you up that weight, and how it gets your heart pumping, too! We’ll be talking all about core training in my next focus group challenge in the BodyFit Athletic Club, HARD CORE, starting on March 31st! Get ready to take your core strength to the next level with this 9-week progressive program designed to build core power, definition, and total-body strength from the inside out. With expert programming, dynamic workouts, and a focus on stability and sculpting, this challenge will transform the way you train. Exclusive to Athletic Club members! If we’re being real about core work, quality matters way more than quantity. Your comments are clutch. They let me know I’m bringing you helpful stuff. Please pop into the comments to fuel me to keep more coming! Most people assume they need more core work. They don’t! They need better core work. Think of one of the primary roles of your core being to act as a strong cylinder between your upper body and your lower body while you do any activity. It’s essential to put your core in positions that challenge it during your training. This is an excellent example of an exercise that does exactly that. Your core has multiple functions, and we will get to those in other posts, but you probably don’t need more core training; you need better core training. PS, you would be surprised at how many exercises your core is being challenged in that you don’t even realize. If you enjoyed this, please bookmark and share. I would love to hear from you, so leave a comment. If I can help you with any of your nagging injuries or workout goals, please visit the link in my bio or DM me.

To make it more race-specific and practical, I have now progressed to jumping onto the ball while in motion. ⁡ This requires instant weight transfer, strong core stability, and precise coordination between the upper and lower body. The difficulty level has increased significantly, and this training has further reduced unnecessary body movement. ⁡ A horse is always moving. I am building a body that can feel those movements instantly and respond without hesitation. ⁡ ✅ Core strengthening on the balance ball ✅ Instant balance control while in motion ✅ Weight distribution training designed for race riding ⁡ I am now successfully performing even higher-level drills. ⁡ I will continue to challenge myself as I aim to reach world-class standards as a jockey. Thank you for your continued support🙇🏻‍♂️ ⁡ #体幹トレーニング #体幹
