1️⃣ Work with a reputable credit repair strategy
The goal in the first 30 days is identifying and challenging negative items that don’t belong on your report.
2️⃣ Don’t pay old collections — dispute them first
Most people don’t know this: paying collections doesn’t automatically improve your score. Removal is what matters.
3️⃣ Avoid applying for new credit
Too many inquiries in a short period signals risk and can slow progress while your credit is being corrected.
4️⃣ Add credit the smart way
Use a secured card, credit-builder loan, or authorized user account to begin reporting positive payment history.
5️⃣ Keep utilization under 30% (10% is better)
Credit is measured when statements cut — not when bills are due.
6️⃣ Monitor reports and changes weekly
Make sure updates, removals, and corrections are actually reflecting across all bureaus.
7️⃣ Pay every account on time — no exceptions
Payment history is 35% of your score. One missed payment can undo everything.
