The Howard University @howard1867 mechanical engineering capstone team visited Aerospace’s Payload Characterization and Environments (PACE) lab April 12 to conduct a series of tests on their CubeSat. Check out this celebratory moment with the team when their antenna still successfully deployed after the final thermal cycle testing. Congratulations to the team! We were thrilled to host you. [Take a virtual tour of the PACE Lab; link in bio under "Virtual Tours"] The thermal cycle testing allowed for the team to mimic the thermal conditions in low earth orbit by heating and cooling their CubeSats for one cycle. Deployment tests and visual inspection of internal and external components were conducted by the students before and after the thermal cycle test to evaluate how the temperature profile affected the CubeSat. Vibration testing was demonstrated on a mock payload to assist the students in formulating their final report. #cubesat #howardU #mechanicalengineering #spacelab #URR #stem #futureofstem #virtualtour
