AT🚨 SCAM ALERT! 🚨
I got a call today from someone pretending to be Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Yes — even I, as an immigration lawyer, got targeted.
With everything happening now — ICE raids, immigration crackdowns — it’s easy to panic when “CBP” calls your phone. But that’s exactly what scammers are counting on: your fear.
👉 Remember:
* CBP doesn’t call random people asking for your info.
* They don’t ask for money, crypto, or gift cards.
* And they definitely don’t threaten people over the phone… at least so far.
📢 To CBP’s credit — they’ve posted official warnings telling everyone not to fall for this scam.
💡 If this happens to you:
❌ Hang up immediately.
❌ Don’t share any personal information.
✅ Report it at ReportFraud.FTC.gov — and help protect others.
