3DThe DHT11 doesn’t measure moisture by touching water or soil. Inside this tiny blue module there’s a polymer film whose electrical resistance changes as it absorbs or releases water vapor from the air. That microscopic variation turns into a digital signal, and the Arduino decodes it into temperature and relative humidity.
Here’s the interesting part: the sensor reacts to the air around the soil, not the soil itself. That’s why placing it above the surface still reveals humidity changes as the environment warms up, dries out, or becomes denser with moisture. It’s basically reading the micro-climate right around it.
And you’ve probably seen sensors like this without even noticing:
they’re inside indoor weather stations, air purifiers, AC units, humidifiers, fridges, plant monitors, and even some smart home devices that adjust ventilation automatically. Anytime a device reacts to “dry”, “humid”, or “warm” air, something like this is doing the measurement.

• Pengukuran suhu dari 0°C sampai 50°C.
• Pengukuran kelembapan dari 20%RH sampai 80%RH.
• Akurasi suhu ±2°C & kelembapan ±5%.
