PRRoquezinho D’Souza Slams ‘Not So Important’ Remark on Velsao Railway Underpass Issue
Velsao-based social worker Roquezinho D’Souza has strongly criticised the “not so important” remark made by former Youth Congress President Mahesh Nadar regarding the long-pending railway underpass/overbridge issue in the area.
The remark was reportedly made during the GPCC’s People’s Dandi March held in Velsao, drawing sharp reactions from local residents and activists.
D’Souza termed the statement insensitive and unfortunate, stating that the demand for a railway underpass or overbridge has been a long-standing safety concern for the people of Velsao and surrounding areas. He pointed out that residents have been raising the issue for years as crossing the railway tracks poses serious risks, especially for school children, elderly citizens and daily commuters.
According to D’Souza, downplaying the matter as “not so important” undermines the genuine safety concerns of the local community. He urged political leaders to be more responsible while addressing issues that directly affect the safety and daily lives of residents.
