Full Version: -Any weighted vest -Kettlebell: 24kg (men) / 16kg (women) -Max incline Part 1 - Suitcase Carry (10 min): 2mph -Switch hands every minute on the minute Part 2 - Rack Carry (6 min): 1.5mph -Offset rack position -Switch hands every 30 seconds Part 3 - Overhead Carry (4 min): 1mph -EMOM (every minute on the minute) -1 full minute per side, alternating Modifications: • Remove weighted vest • Lower kettlebell weight • Reduce or eliminate incline • Take it outside with a timer • Adjust time domains You don’t have to go full send to benefit from this. Okay so it’s not all that impressive when the treadmill only goes to 12 mph (the bane of existence for runners everywhere) but it was fun to get a little speedier at the end of my workout on Wednesday. 🤷‍♀️ For the workout @mountainroche concocted: 4x6:00 at TH 6x90s at 10k 4x30s at 3k (but ended up being more of a slow 5k pace due to the treadmill speed limits) All in all a great workout hitting multiple systems and some good volume too. 10/10 would recommend! It’s no secret that I log A LOT of miles on the treadmill. It can be a really useful tool in the toolkit. Make the “Dreadmill” your superpower this January and watch your fitness grow. Here are 5 things I do to make it more enjoyable: #1 – Watch something you care about Pick a show you are actually invested in and the miles melt by. I like watching NBA basketball when I can. #2 – Change pace slightly Change your pace by just 0.2 to 0.3 mph every few minutes to reset your legs and make time pass faster. Weird how the mind resets when the pace changes #3 – Fan placement Aim a fan directly at your face and chest because heat buildup is half of what makes treadmill runs feel miserable. #4 - Little caffeine beforehand A small dose of caffeine before your run can lower perceived effort and instantly make treadmill miles feel easier. #5 – Start slower Start the first five minutes slower than you think because it sets your mental tone for the entire run. Increase speed once you’ve found the rhythm

I'm really not a fan but I do believe that treadmill runs count and you can get lots of very effective training on a treadmill by following these tips. 1️⃣ Set a 1-2% Incline: A 0% incline on a treadmill feels like a slight downhill; setting it to 1-2% mimics wind resistance and provides a better, more realistic workout. 2️⃣ Use intervals to break up the monotony. I find treadmills are also a great way to lock into your workout pace if you don't have training partners or a flat cost Are you a treadmill runner

I keep my 💗HR average in Zone 2 (120 for me) regardless of pace or speed on the day, but look for an increase in speed at the same HR over a period of several weeks. ✅Fitness metric #2: (better for those looking to BQ etc). I ignore HR and go for a certain race pace or speed (3.0mph here for example) but then watch as my average HR decreases over time at the same speed (may take weeks or even months).
