and it started with women before me having far less of it. When I think about the women in my family, I think about my mom first. At the beginning of her marriage, being financially dependent on my dad, and I know there were moments where she felt pushed into a role that did not fully reflect who she was. I think part of her would have loved to build more of a career for herself and live closer to the ocean. And if I go back just one more generation, to my grandma, women had even fewer choices. When I look at my own life today, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the possibilities and decisions. But then I take a step back, out of catastrophy mind, and I mostly feel grateful. Grateful that I get to build a life that feels true to me. And I also know that this kind of freedom is still not a given for many women. That is why we do not take it for granted And maybe by living our lives freely, loudly, and on our own terms, we inspire another woman to do the same. #surfphotography #femalesurf #surfcommunity #surfergirls #womeninspiringwomen
