Lately more and more clients are bringing in hair photos that turn out to be AI-generated. The colours are flawless, the lighting is perfect, and the hair looks almost too good… because it kind of is.
The tricky part is that those images often set expectations that just aren’t realistic in real life. Hair has texture, undertones, previous colour, lighting changes, all the things that AI tends to smooth out or exaggerate.
One of my favourite ways to navigate this is with my swatch collection. It helps clients see what tones actually look like on hair, in real life, so we can talk through what’s achievable and what will work best for their hair.
