If you do as much EPP as I do then you know this pain. You either leave 1/3 of the stick behind or you squeeze out every last bit of glue that you end up sticky all over. I have tried using glue sticks and other brands but I always come back to sewline gluesticks. I bag up the refill sticks as they empty and when I have a handful of them I move them over to an empty Elmers glue stick. I add one of the EPP tips and now I am able to get more use out of each stick. Then I set it aside for the next project and repeat. As a side note, I really wish I could buy the @sewline_official glue stick refills in packs of 50/100. I do a lot of basting for others and go through a lot of sticks! #epp #sewinghacks #sewingtips #sewingcommunity #quilt

They aren’t just full of someone’s old junk. Well, to be fair, there is at least *some* junk, but there are more modern treasures as well! Best example I have are these absofreakinglutely adorable hand pieced quilt blocks using Tula Pink fabrics! See caption for details. Here are my must haves for my #epp projects! It’s super easy to get started so come join me! Paper punches: I refuse to pay for paper pieces that are already cut out for me and since I only use hexies right now I’ve bought a few punches from Amazon and make my own. Scraps: EPP is a great way to use up your scraps! Thread snips: any that are small and easy to carry are perfect! Craft magnets: find these at any craft or hardware store. They make it much easier to hold your pieces together as you’re sewing them. Added bonus - they double as a needle minder! Thread: to baste I use whatever all purpose thread I want to use up. For piecing I love a polyester thread, specifically Superior Thread Bottom Weight. Really thin and doesn’t tangle very easily. Needles: for basting I just use any needle I have around. For sewing the pieces together I prefer a milliner needle size 9 (it’s long and really thin) Pouch: okay this is optional but it is fun and makes taking your project with you a lot easier. Just ask Nisha.    3️⃣ Cutting dog ears • As tempting as it is to tidy up and rid your EPP block of those pesky tags, keep them and tuck them under your EPP instead. Using precious @heatherrossinsta fabrics for a half inch hexagon apple, new and older prints that are perfect for these hexagons. 🍎 I’m stamping tiny hexagons for an EPP Apple Pincushion and this one is going to be very cute. 🍎 Comment APPLE and I’ll DM you the links for the sew-along, pattern, and patchwork stamps! For the hexagon version, there is an optional prep stage from 9 to 30 April. I’ll send the panel instructions by email on 9 April, and you can make the panel either by stamping and hand sewing or by EPP. The sew-along is short, sweet, and very doable: 🍎 18 to 24 May - choose fabrics, iron on interfacing, trace and cut your apple pieces, and cut 2 felt leaves 🍎 25 to 31 May - sew the apple quarters together, stuff your apple, finish your apple, and add the button and leaves #craftapaloozadesigns #sewingnotions #pincushion
