EDThe white men brought church to condemn our traditions, but today it has turned into big business” – Edo resident makes explosive claims
An Edo State resident, Efosa, has sparked massive reactions online after openly criticizing some modern churches, describing them as business centers used to manipulate and exploit people.
According to him, religion was introduced to Africans to erase traditional beliefs, but it has now evolved into a system where fake prophecies, fear, and so-called witchcraft accusations are used to control followers, especially the poor.
Efosa alleged that some pastors deliberately target wealthy individuals, using spiritual manipulation to gain influence and money, while ordinary members are left struggling. He went further to claim that many so-called miracles and prophecies are staged, calling them scams designed to make churches go viral and grow financially.
“If I tell you say your pastor na scammer or dey use witchcraft talk to control people, no argue with me. I understand this thing well. Na business dem dey run,” he said.
He questioned why fake churches are allowed to operate freely, urging authorities to investigate and regulate religious organizations, while emphasizing that not all churches are bad, but “the real ones are very few.”
His comments have divided social media users in Edo State, with some agreeing strongly, while others defended the church and accused him of blasphemy.

THHallmark Versus Taraluna Gracious Nekpen: The Truth Of The Matter.
On March 5, 2026, Taraluna Gracious Nekpen went live on Facebook and accused Hallmark of stealing goods she had bought from the supermarket, thereby inflicting reputational damage on one of the most respectable companies in Edo State.
Taraluna claimed, "I bought goods worth 981,000 naira, but when I got home, I found that 80% of what I bought was not taken with us. They did not give me my goods. They stole the things."
On a number of social media platforms, the video became viral. Hundreds of viewers voiced their displeasure towards Hallmark; while thousands of others questioned Taraluna's accusations towards the brand as suspect.
With more than 500 employees, Hallmark is one of the largest supermarket chains in Edo State, directly boosting the state's economy.
In order to encourage more entrepreneurs to bring their companies and ideas to Edo State, Edo residents have consistently urged the government to protect investors and their businesses.
Taraluna's story, however, suffered a twist and setback when the cab driver she employed to take her goods home came forward with the goods claiming she forgot them in his boot.
From Tuesday, March 3rd to Sunday, March 8th, the products remained with the cab driver who couldn't trace his way back to Taraluna's house, and eventually came back to Hallmark's gate where he suspected she bought the goods from. Prior to this time Taraluna had done her damaging video that had gone viral, so the management of Hallmark followed due process of the law by handing the cab driver and the recovered good in the boot of his car to the police
Both the cab driver and Taraluna's belongings are currently being held by the police while further investigation is going on.

What started as a simple training session became a moment I’ll carry with me for a long time.
Standing in Face of Oza, Edo State, I watched growth happen right before my eyes — confidence replacing fear, poise replacing doubt, and purpose shining through every walk, every smile, every correction patiently taken. This wasn’t just about pageantry; it was about self-belief, discipline, resilience, and discovering the power within.
Seeing these queens give their all reminded me why I started coaching in the first place. The long hours, the repeated corrections, the encouragement, the tough love — all of it was worth it. Each step they took on that floor told a story of courage and determination.
This session marked the end of a chapter for the year, but also the beginning of so many beautiful journeys. I’m grateful for the trust, the effort, the laughter, the learning, and even the challenges that shaped this experience. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your growth.
As the year comes to a close, I leave Face of Oza with pride, gratitude, and hope — knowing that the seeds planted here will bloom far beyond the stage. 👑✨
