I’ve ridden SRAM Transmission for the past two years and been a big fan, solid shift speed, durability, and the direct-mount setup. But with a new bike came the chance to try something different. First impressions of Shimano’s wireless 12-speed Di2: fast, smooth, and super crisp shifts under load. It’s not hangerless, but the shifting still feels direct. The look is more rounded than SRAM but that’s personal preference there. I was skeptical about the shifter after hearing everyone rave about it, but it genuinely feels great. Tons of adjustability, and the paddle press has a more “mechanical keyboard” feel. Not better or worse, just different.
