LURecently I was able to acquire this Canton foundry and machine co. no. 2 crane or hoist ! This model can lift 4000 pounds and weighs in at a bit over 740 pounds. The Base Casting, Projecting Arms and Gears are made of Cast Iron (best machinery grade) with a mix of steel in the iron making the stock stronger and tougher than ordinary cast iron.
The frame is reinforced with a heavy wrought iron band, taking up the severe strain.
The chain is BBB Guaranteed Hand Forged Tested Grade, used only on the Canton Portable Hoist. The Hook, Block, Axle, Forks and Yoke are all Drop Forgings having an enormous tensile strength.
Wheels are roller bearing. It does appear to have a riser for extra height (and added weight)
Back in 1920s this crane sold for $122 which was quite the bargain - today in addition to the original uses they’ve become a hot industrial decor piece and one can even find them hanging swings or other items.

TC@wilsoncapron The TCAA 2024 Grape bit was made for the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association‘s 25th annual show held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Opening weekend is September 26-27, 2024.
The bit is designed around Greg Darnall’s Loomis shank and the mouthpiece is hand forged which will provide a great experience between horse and rider.
This bit is engraved with high relief sculpted grape leaves, fine silver inlays in the background and 24k gold grapes.

Sharing the first looks at this new sapphire ring I finished up a little while back and never got around to posting until now.
Featuring a gorgeous 1ct unheated blue sapphire crystal in its natural state, lightly aluviated after thousands of years in the waterways of Sri Lanka, this crystal has a soft satiny surface but retains its crystal shape, internal clarity and mysterious allure. With bands of darker and lighter blue shifting the tone of the crystal depending on the angle of light.
The stone is claw prong set in a split double band sterling silver ring with 14k gold accents and light codes etched all throughout. As with all my work this ring was entirely hand forged and designed by me to showcase the unique beauty of this one of a kind earth treasure.
This ring is a size 7 and is currently available. I’ll be including it in the launch of my new website in the coming weeks but don’t hesitate to reach out if this piece calls to you and we can chat about making it yours before it goes live!
