THThe truth is we all mess up, not just when we are beginners, all the time.
And honestly, that doesn’t go away no matter how long you’ve been sewing.
I still mess things up. I still sew things wrong, have to rip seams, start over, and figure it out as I go.
That’s not failure, that’s the progress.
Somewhere along the way, we start thinking we’re supposed to get it right the first time.
Like mistakes mean we’re not good at it. That’s just not true. The people who get better are the ones who keep going anyway.
So if you’ve been hesitating to start something because you’re afraid of messing it up, this is your sign to just go for it. Try it. Learn from it. Do it again.
You’re not behind. You’re not bad at this. You’re just in the middle of learning, exactly where you’re supposed to be.
