The Devil’s Gate Dam in Arroyo Seco Canyon, once sacred to the Tongva people, was built in the 1920s and named after a nearby demonic-looking rock formation. In the 1940s, occultist Jack Parsons, a co-founder of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and L. Ron Hubbard performed rituals there to open a portal to hell or summon an antichrist figure. The area gained notoriety in the 1950s and 1960s when several children mysteriously disappeared near the dam. Over time, various paranormal phenomena have been reported, including ghostly apparitions, unexplained sounds, and UFO sightings. Here’s what you need to know about Wrigley Gardens in Pasadena: 📍 Wrigley Gardens, located at Wrigley Mansion 391 S Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91184 🌹 The gardens span over 4 acres and feature more than 1,500 varieties of roses, camellias, and annuals. ➡️ You can sign up for one of their free Summer Tours of the Tournament House held on Thursdays at 2pm to tour the inside of the estate ‼️ The garden is blooming and will likely be in full blloom closer to the end of May Would you go? To say this one’s a challenge would be a massive understatement 😂 Good googly moogly this is a hard song - I thought I’m the One was the toughest Van Halen song, but now I’m thinking Hang ‘Em High takes that title. Eddie emptied his entire bag of tricks on this one - I think it might be impossible to recreate the record version note for note. Can we also take a moment to appreciate Alex’s drumming!? - his swing on this one is legendary. I noticed Eddie fretted the intro riff a few different ways in live videos. He’s basically oscillating/pedaling off a B & A note for the rhythm and hitting an A note on the D string as an accent note. I’m doing the big stretch and hitting the B note on the A string instead of the low E string. If you follow the tabs you’ll need to string skip from the low E string to the D string - I just couldn’t get that right so I opted for the stretch version instead.
