This ferry crossing connects Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, with Picton in the South Island. The journey takes around three to three and a half hours, crossing the Cook Strait, one of the most dynamic stretches of water in the country.
After leaving Wellington Harbour, the ferry travels through open sea before entering the Marlborough Sounds, a network of sheltered waterways and forested hills.
