ADSome compressor crankcase heaters use the compressor windings as a conductor and are wired to the line and load side of the contactor on a single pole. When the contactor pulls in electricity takes the path of least resitance through the contactor’s contacts and not the crankcase circuit. In the off cycle the compressor windings complete the circuit between two of the line voltage legs and usually draw only a quarter amp. #hvac #hvaclife #hvactech
