The support from people across hospitality and from those who simply show up, eat, drink and back the industry — genuinely means a lot ❤️ We’re continuing to push for a 10% reduction in VAT. This isn’t about handouts or bailouts, it’s about a sensible growth policy that protects jobs and gives hospitality the chance to keep moving forward. I just got thrown out of Question Time today for demanding answers, and I’d do it again. Recently the Prime Minister told Parliament the Government didn’t provide any assistance to the ISIS brides. Yet today his own Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said it would have been illegal not to. So which is it? Did Labor help bring them back, or are they misleading the Australian people? Either way the Prime Minister and his Minister can’t get their stories straight. Australians are rightly concerned that women who joined the ISIS caliphate are now back in our communities, and the Albanese Government has been caught out hiding the truth.

Today in Question Time, part time Energy Minister Chris Bowen was asked a pretty simple question by my colleague Terry Young: when will power bills actually come down for families and small businesses, who’ve seen their bill jump more than 40 percent in a month? Instead of owning up, the Minister tried blaming everyone else and even claimed coal assets are the “most unreliable part of our energy system.” That’s when I couldn’t help myself and called out the real issue: the most unreliable part of our energy system is the Minister in charge of it. Australians deserve honesty and affordable energy. The Coalition will keep fighting for both.
