PRDuring spring conferences, I like to send families home with clear information about how their child is doing and what to expect next. Parents receive a copy of their child’s assessment, a kindergarten readiness checklist (or a preschool readiness checklist if they’ll be returning another year), and a sheet showing the personal information I asked students about—things like their name, birthday, address, and phone number—to see what they know independently. I also complete a kindergarten placement form that is shared with the kindergarten teachers so they have a better understanding of their incoming students before the school year begins.
