1. Saturday Evening Puss (January 14, 1950)
This short features Tom hosting a loud jazz party with his alley cat friends while their owner, Mammy Two Shoes, is away.
The Party: The video shows Tom signaling to his friends with a sign that says "O.K. FOR THE PARTY".
Musical Mayhem: The cats play various instruments, including a piano and a record player, which causes Jerry's head to transform into the shape of different instruments as he tries to sleep.
The Eviction: After Jerry calls Mammy to report the party, she rushes home (briefly showing her face, a rare series event) and kicks the cats out. They end up in a "totem pole" formation against a wall outside.
2. Texas Tom (March 11, 1950)
Set in the American West, Tom attempts to impress a female cat named Tara by acting like a tough cowboy.
Western Antics: The clips show Tom using Jerry to help him roll a cigarette and lighting it with a revolver.
Jerry’s Revenge: Jerry sabotages Tom's guitar serenade by speeding up the record player.
The Climax: Tom’s attempts to handle a bull and show off his lasso skills result in him being trampled and ultimately sent crashing through a roof after a backfired "cool" cigarette trick.
3. Jerry and the Lion (April 8, 1950)
This episode follows Jerry helping a gentle lion who has escaped from the circus.
The Secret Guest: Jerry hides the hungry lion behind a curtain and sneaks him a large ham.
Tom's Confusion: Tom is terrified as he believes Jerry has developed superhuman strength and a massive appetite because the lion eats the ham in one bite from behind the curtain.
Ending: The short concludes with Jerry helping the lion stow away on a ship to return to the jungle in Africa.
Production Context
Creators: All three shorts were produced by Fred Quimby and scored by Scott Bradley at MGM Cartoons.
Historical Note: "Saturday Evening Puss" is famous for being the only cartoon where the face of Mammy Two Shoes is briefly visible.
