It’s been one month since I launched the #SableSet and I am once again humbled by the sheer volume of people who see my design and want to make it themselves. 🥹 All it’s done is light a little fire under my bum to start working on my next pattern. If this is your first time hearing of it, the Sable Set is a two piece set comprising of a form fitting strapless top that flares out subtly over the tummy and hips, and a simple 3-tiered skirt with on seam pockets (obviously). The top can also be made fully REVERSIBLE!! + it’s SIZE INCLUSIVE and BEGINNER FRIENDLY 🌻 It’s a simple make that creates a fancy little ensemble (i know because when I tried to AI extend a pic of me in it, the AI kept adding a bride and groom). So if you have any summer weddings coming up, this might be the perfect sewing project for your wedding guest outfit!

On my sewing table is this stunning @byerinford #sableset! As soon as I saw this in my feed I just knew I had to make one for myself 🌼 I got some gorgeous linen slub in an ivory colour. All my pieces have been cut out and all that's left to do is to thread my machines and start sewing this beauty! Real talk, ya'll. I don't know when I'm going to finish this project. My plan is to try and sew this up every chance I can get in between my day job and my part time studies. You know, life. I also have a time crunch because autumn is coming soon here in the southern hemisphere so if I wanna get some wear out of my new Sable Set at the beach I'm gonna have to make haste 😬

it’s too cold to wear this set atm but once warm weather hits? i’m wearing this ouuut. this is the #sableset by @byerinford and it’s perfect. 👌🏾 made a size D and the fit is great. the instructions are clear and detailed and the formula for determining the elastic in the top worked really well!! i ran outta fabric so i had to frankenstein the middle tier to get the amount needed on grain. which gave me a patchwork idea for a future version. this pattern seems easily modifiable, cant wait to play around with it more. the amount of effort and love that was put into this pattern was truly felt during the testing period and in the quality of the sewing experience and outcome! i can’t wait to make a million more, congratulations @byerinford on a beautiful pattern 🌼 #sewing #memade #patternrelease #sewistsofinstagram #sewcute #sewersofinstagram #blackgirlssew

It’s here! The Sable Set is here! I can’t believe that I am finally able to say that my very first sewing pattern is live. The #sableset is two-piece set featuring a strapless top with an elasticated back, and a simply flowy tiered skirt (with pockets of course). Where them together, mix and match them… oh and did I mention the top is fully reversible? 🔗 IS IN THE PLACE LINKS USUALLY ARE 🤫 There have been countless moments over the past 6 months where I genuinely thought this day would never come. But through sheer determination (pulled from god knows where) we did it! A huge shoutout to @confidentpatternmaking for giving me literal magical powers and quite honestly, making my dreams come true. And to @jessilous_closet who not only served as a mentor during the Sable’s gestation, but also for consistently building up and cheering on all new patternmakers, not just her students. @carinasophia for being such a patient, knowledgeable, talented and fucking gorgeous fit model who seriously I could not have done this without. AND ALL MY TESTERS!! You were all so thoughtful and dedicated in your feedback and also so understanding about this being my first pattern. I learned so much from you. Okay play the music. I need to lay down.
