SKSecond skin is great for protecting the tattoo during the first stage of healing, but if it’s left on the skin for too long it can trap too much moisture, sweat, and plasma underneath the bandage
This can start to irritate the skin and may slow down the healing process
Wearing it longer than recommended can also soften the skin too much, which may cause redness, breakouts, or sensitivity once the bandage is removed
Because of this, it’s best to remove the second skin around day 4–5, gently wash the tattoo with mild soap and water, and then continue the healing process with normal aftercare and a light fragrance-free moisturizer
