Joining the Army is a good decision for many reasons, and for some of us, it’s life-changing.
The Army offers stable pay and full benefits from day one, including healthcare for you and your family, housing or housing allowance, and a steady career path. It provides Tuition Assistance and the GI Bill, allowing Soldiers to earn college degrees with little to no debt. You gain job training in over 150 career fields, many of which translate directly to civilian careers. The Army also builds discipline, confidence, leadership, and resilience skills that last a lifetime.
Most importantly, the Army meets people where they are. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be willing.
I joined at 23 years old with two kids and shipped to basic training on my 24th birthday. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. If I can take that leap, balance family, and push through the challenge, so can you.
