TAThis is something I don’t talk about much on here, or really in general, because it’s never something I wanted to be part of my identity.
Sh was a coping habit I developed about four years ago when I was in treatment, and for a long time it felt embarrassing that it was still something I struggled with even as I was healing in other ways.
Today marks 1 year clean!!
A year might not seem like that long, but it’s the longest I’ve gone since it started. Even celebrating this milestone felt a little strange, because it’s not something I usually share or know how to talk about.
Recovery isn’t linear, and I know there will still be hard days ahead. But today I’m really proud of myself for reaching a milestone I once thought was impossible.
Maybe sharing this video will help me learn to not feel embarrassed to show my struggles I still have a hard time dealing with. ❤️🩹🫶
