Save this for your next Zion trip! I know I’m not the first to say it…ZION IS OVERRUN!!! Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful but it definitely gets more crowded than it can accommodate. Here is my opinion on arrival times: 6-7am arrival BEST- catch Zion at sunrise! If you know you are just going to do a drive through this is the best time to go. People are not up yet and you can just have your leisure drive through. The visitor center won’t be open yet but you will be able to find parking and you can get ready for any hikes. 8-9am arrival OKAY - this isn’t a horrible time to go but depending on the day and season it may already be busy. Visitor center opens at 9am and people will be lined up already. If you go during the fall or winter you are probably fine but summer, it might already be crowded. 10am-4pm arrival WORST - if you hate crowds, never finding a parking spot, and traffic DO NOT arrive at this time! You will regret it. You WILL wait to even get in the park and you will get stuck in traffic. There will also be no parking. Be warned. 5-7pm arrival OKAY - this is also not a bad time to get into the park. People will most likely be leaving and the visitor center will be closing. Of course the park ‘closes’ after 6pm but… you’re most likely fine. If you go during the busy season there will still be plenty of people there but you won’t hit as much traffic.

PART 4 of 7 // ESCALANTE, UTAH 🥾 WHAT TO HIKE Devil’s Garden (Metate & Mano Arch area) • Easy wandering among hoodoos + arches • Mostly flat, explore at your own pace • FREE Peekaboo + Spooky Slot Canyons • ~3.5–4 miles RT loop • Narrow, non-technical slots SO NOT GOOD IF CLAUSTROPHOBIC • Dry conditions only — avoid if rain is in forecast • FREE Escalante River Trail to Escalante Natural Bridge • ~4 miles RT • Multiple shallow river crossings (10 total) • Mostly flat, sandy sections • FREE Lower Calf Creek Falls • 6 miles RT • ~500 ft elevation gain • Ends at a 126-foot waterfall • Day use fee $5 (covered with America the Beautiful Pass) 🛏 WHERE TO STAY @oflandhotels — it’s always my go to ☕ WHERE TO EAT * Coffee at Kiva Koffeehouse (views over the canyon = unreal, especially with spring green cottonwoods) * Dinner at @hellsbackbonegrill — locally sourced and the black powder biscuits are to die for, seriously. I mean it when I say it’s my favorite restaurant in Southern Utah * Breakfast at Little Bone Food Truck in Boulder * Pizza post hike at Escalante Outfitters Escalante is one of my favorite places in the state and there’s a little something for everyone. Known for the section with stripes that gives it the name, Zebra Slot Canyon near Escalante Utah is one of the prettiest slot canyons in Utah. TIPS FOR VISITING {SAVE for later and FOLLOW for more!} 🏜 5 mile hike (or so) to Zebra and back or 7.5 if you add on Tunnel Slot 🏜 This section is a short section of the slot but worth the hike 🏜️ Do not attempt this hike if there is rain nearby even if it is not raining at the trail. Flash flooding is a real danger here. 🏜️ This slot canyon often has some water at the entrance that requires wading or even swimming (and it’s freezing cold) - it has been dry when we’ve gone, but be prepared just in case 🏜 Shoes with good grip make this hike easier since you do have to do some scrambling to get to this part (especially women since it gets skinniest right at hip level) 🏜 Hike is in sand, and some of it is soft and deep sand; no shade until you get to the slot 🏜️ Protect this slot and hike by leaving it how you found it - marking the walls is illegal and ruins it for future visitors; pack out anything you bring in 🏜️ Carry plenty of water with you, especially in the summer months. It gets very hot, and there is no shade along the trail. 🏜️ Download a map of the trail before you go; it isn’t always easy to follow 🏜 You can make it here with 2 wheel drive and low clearance at slower speeds if the roads are dry, but 4x4 and/or high clearance makes it easier 🏜 You can also visit Peekaboo and Spooky and Devils Garden from Hole in the Rock Road (road to get there) Have you been to a slot canyon before? #slotcanyon #escalante #southernutah #hikingadventures

If you have an extra time these hikes are absolutely worth the detour. Dogs are permitted for all options. 📍Professor & Mary Jane Canyon A beautiful water hike through a sculpted canyon that ends at a hidden waterfall. 🥾 ~8 miles RT (shorter options possible) 💦 Expect creek crossings 📍Morning Glory Natural Bridge via Grandstaff Canyon One of the largest natural bridges in the world, tucked deep inside a canyon. 🥾 5.7 miles RT 📍Fisher Towers Towering red rock formations that feel straight out of a desert cathedral. 🥾 4.6 miles RT 📍Onion Creek Narrows A scenic canyon drive with dozens of shallow creek crossings and colorful rock walls. This hike NEEDS to be on your bucketlist 👇🏼 Here’s how you can land a permit to do it… Share this with someone that you’d love to do this hike with ➡️ Follow @wanderlusttravelcouple for more bucketlist travel inspo 👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼 Welcome to The Wave (Arizona-Utah border)📍 This hike can be almost impossible to land a permit to… but we’ve got you covered 🌊 With only 64 permits granted each day and so many people applying… This makes The Wave the most exclusive hike IN THE WORLD 🌎 48 permits are drawn each day in an online Advanced Lottery (4 months in advance). Only 16 permits are given out each day for the Daily Lottery (2 days prior) 🎟️ There’s a lot of tips out there that focus on things like trying to go in the off season or trying to apply on bad weather days with the idea that there will be less people entering the lottery. You can add that strategy on to this one ⛈️ The most important thing to remember is… More entries means an increased chance of winning. So here’s what to do to GREATLY increase your chances… When entering the lottery you can list up to 6 people on your potential permit. Each time we applied we BOTH would apply (separate email address). We also had groups of friends that we would apply with at times. Everyone would apply using their own email but we would all select enough spots so that if someone won we could all go on that 1 permit 👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼 In order to apply via the Daily Lottery you have to physically be within a certain geofenced area in Northern Arizona/Southern Utah… which includes towns like… Kanab, Page, Big Water, Fredonia, Glendale, and Jacob Lake 🍀 There’s honestly so much to do in this area that it’s easy to spend a good amount of time in both Page Arizona & Kanab Utah. So every time we were in the area we made sure we entered the Daily Lottery along with any friends that were there as well 🤞🏼 With this strategy we were able to get in a little over 50 entries (chances) in a relatively short amount of time 😲 Be sure to add hiking The Wave to your bucketlist… and save this post for future reference ⤵️ #TheWave #Page #Arizona #Southwest #BucketlistTravel

They definitely do But a lot of people compare how much house they can get somewhere in the middle of nowhere To how much house they can get in UT As a relocation specialist, I have conversations like this every single day But here’s the truth Moving to Utah WILL require some changes But when you live where it looks like this outside all year round... You spend more way more time ★ at parks ★ at the lake ★ at the pool ★ outside playing pickleball ★ outside on walks or runs ★ eating dinner outside enjoying a sunset & ENJOYING YOUR LIFE I personally bought my house sign unseen while I was living in Virginia and it was a scary thing to do And I’m so glad I did cause I’ve been so happy here And you can too… There’s still options for almost every budget and that’s what I get to do - help you navigate them so this move makes sense for you.
