I ran 20.6 after YEARS of struggling to break 22. I realized that most sprinters don’t lose the 100m or 200m because they’re not fast enough… They lose it because they just don’t know how to use their speed. This is something I learned way too late. Here’s what changed everything for me ⬇️ 1. I stopped forcing the first steps Exploding doesn’t mean rushing. Use clean pushes, patience out of the blocks, and let your acceleration build. Speed comes from positions! 2. I learned when to relax Top speed isn’t about trying harder. It’s about letting it happen. The moment I stopped fighting the ground, my times dropped. This one is huge. 3. I trained transitions, not just max speed The best 100/200 runners aren’t just fast, they’re smooth when shifting gears. Acceleration ➡️ upright ➡️ maintain. That’s what the best are able to do. 4. Posture under pressure matters RELAX your face muscles. When others tighten up, you stay efficient. 5. Every rep had a purpose No more “just doing reps.” Every sprint had a rhythm, a focus, and a reason. Whether that’s tempo runs or max speed sessions! I ran 10.70 as a kid, then spent years stuck… Before finally learning how to actually sprint. If you run the 100m or 200m, master this and watch how different racing feels #trackandfield #tracknation #sprinting #speedwork #d1athlete #collegeathlete #sprintdrills #100meter #200meters #runningtips #running #athletes

A proper first phase (block phase) is essential to long jump success. The right mechanics and body positions allow an athlete to transfer speed efficiently into the jump, not just to jump farther today, but to stay mechanically sound and keep improving over time !! 🏆 . . 1-on-1 coaching • Online programs • Video analysis ⬇️ DM me or click the link in bio to start. #godisable #longjump #jumper #tracknation #coach

Three drills. One goal: force INTO the hurdle. Drill 1- The plyo box exaggerates the push-off, teaching athletes to apply force through the ground instead of just lifting over the barrier. Drill 2- The walk-in drill slows everything down and removes speed so athletes must create momentum themselves by pushing into the ground. Drill 3- The sled makes athletes exaggerate how hard they push into the ground during the first few steps. When the sled comes off and they go straight into the first hurdle, that same push carries over. The body is still thinking “drive,” so the steps into the hurdle are stronger and more intentional. Little things. It’ll all come together. #shocktheworld #ltu #tough

On May 22, 2004 at Carson, California, sprint legend Maurice Greene exploded out of the blocks and clocked a wind-aided 9.86 s in the 100 m. But the moment that captured every headline came afterwards. A dry-chemical fire extinguisher bought days earlier on a playful whim by his hurdler friend Larry Wade stood ready. As Greene tore off his blue Adidas spikes and stomped on the track, Wade rushed in and hosed down the shoes as if they were literally on fire. The white powder puffed everywhere, sealing the moment as one of the most iconic celebrations in track and field. It wasn’t just spectacle it was a statement: speed, swagger and fun, at a time when the sport needed a spark. #trackandfield #sprinterlife #speedlegend #sportsreels #runningcommunity #athleticslife #viralreels #sportshighlights #tracknation #motivationdaily #legendarymoments #fastestman #fyp #explorepage

Most athletes lose the race before they even come off the curve. The 200m isn’t just about speed… it’s about how you manage speed. The biggest mistakes I see: ❌ starting in the middle of curve ❌ Not hugging the curve ❌ Over-striding on the curve ❌ Tight shoulders and wasted energy ❌ Going all-out too early and dying the last 80m The faster way? ✔ Attack the curve with control – stay tall, lean slightly inside, and keep your cadence smooth. ✔ Relax your upper body – fast athletes stay loose while others panic. ✔ Build through the curve and maintain down the straight. The 200m rewards athletes who can run fast while staying relaxed. Master the curve… and watch your time drop. If you run the 200m, this is something you need to understand. Comment “200” if you run this event. Save this for your next meet. Coach Hughlett | Dallas Lavish Fitness #trackandfieldtraining #sprinterlife #speedtraining #tracknation #sprinttraining

I wish I could have used a better side view, but this is the best I could grab from the race I'll continue to be curious on what he acheives as he focuses on the marathon. - #running #tracknation #trackandfield #10000m

Instantly fix your backside mechanics👇🏼 Poor recovery of backside mechanics is the limiting factor for most athletes’ speed potential - and yet most still prioritise force over flow. No matter how powerful you are, You can’t take your next step until the trail leg has recovered to the frontside. Rather of rushing to put your foot down, lift the thigh & extend your airtime by a fraction whilst shifting focus to whipping the trail leg through faster. By focusing on whipping the back leg through quicker - you’ll have more time to position for the next step to maximise accuracy & efficiency. If you don’t leave yourself enough time to recover for the next step - you may temporarily increase frequency, but you’ll have to sacrifice all your rhythm and stride length in exchange.
