We just wrapped up our second full day of mediation and the administration continues to propose wages and benefits that are far below what we need to keep up with the cost of living. The Public Employee Collective Bargaining Act (PECBA) requires unions to declare impasse before we call for a strike vote. Both sides then have a week to prepare a last, best offer. We are bargaining in solidarity with the PCC Classified employee union. On Friday, both unions will declare impasse, setting the stage for a historic strike as early as March 10. We hope it doesn’t come to that, but we are prepared to fight for PCC and our students. #WeFixPCC
