ER🎉 PUPDATE: Dunkin’ has been adopted!! And he couldn’t have asked for a better family. @sivanpitchon and @jessecalosso are the most wonderful humans who fell in love with the sweetest, happiest, most loyal and loving pup—and officially made him part of their pack!
🐾 Dunkin’s story is a testament to the power of rescue and teamwork. He was scheduled to be k*lled at an overcrowded shelter in Atlanta on January 6th, when @helaynekushner and I made a 24-hour drive to bring him to Miami. He was pulled in the nick of time by @braveheartbulliezrescue and @rescueme_atl who jumped in to save his life. Helayne fostered Dunkin’ while he received medical attention and learned that the world is a safe place.
💕 Our hearts are full. There are millions of dogs and cats sitting unseen in shelters waiting for their turn. You can save a life in so many ways: adopt, foster, donate, or simply share their pictures on social media to get them seen. Support groups like @ccac.volunteers & @rescueme_atl who are committed to helping the dogs in Dunkin’s old shelter find homes.

VIMeet my three babies 🐾🤍
Most of you already know Bear (also known as Oso), but I realized I’ve never officially introduced the full family here on my feed, so it’s time.
Bear was my very first friend in Cusco. I met him as a stray in February 2023, just one month after I moved here. For three months, I fed him daily on the streets, told myself I was “just helping,” and very obviously lied to myself. In May 2023, I took him to the vet for grooming and medical care…and walked out with a dog bed, food and water bowls, and some toys. Best spontaneous decision of my life.
Eight months later, in January 2024, Pepé (black and white cat) entered the picture. He was a kitten, about 8–10 months old, hanging out in the parking garage of my apartment building. I brought him inside “just to see what would happen.” Four days later, he and Bear were already cuddling like soulmates. That was that.
And then there’s Chia. In October, I spent the day at Azul Wasi orphanage doing some volunteering. They had six orphaned kittens, and Chia was one of them. I had already been thinking Pepé needed a playmate, but this was completely unplanned. I didn’t go there intending to bring a kitten home, yet somehow I left with one. It felt like fate.
All three found their way to me unexpectedly. And somehow, they love me and each other in the most pure, gentle way.
I am officially cut off from adopting more animals (hold me accountable 😅), but my heart and my home feel full. I feel so lucky to give them a safe place to land and even luckier for how much love they give back.
These are my babies. And yes, my life revolves around them now.
