Problem 1: API Gateway Monitoring
How do you get alerted when a specific API endpoint is hit? We set up CloudWatch logs, created a metric filter, and triggered Slack/email alerts via SNS—so no critical request goes unnoticed.
Problem 2: Smart Auto-Scaling in EKS
Scaling pods based on CPU isn’t always enough! We needed request-based scaling for an API-heavy workload. The solution? KEDA (Kubernetes Event-Driven Autoscaler) + ALB queue metrics, ensuring just the right number of pods at any time.
