CIDuring the filming of The Conjuring (2013), the horror didn’t always stop when the cameras did.
👁️🗨️ Vera Farmiga, who portrayed real-life paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren, once revealed that after discussing dark scenes from the script, she discovered unexplained claw-like marks across her laptop screen. No pets. No damage before. Just scratches.
The real-life Perron family, whose alleged haunting inspired the film, visited the set and reportedly felt an “unseen presence” lingering nearby — as if something had followed their story into Hollywood.
Even director James Wan admitted to strange disturbances at home while writing the script. His dog would reportedly growl at empty corners of the room late at night.
Coincidence? Method acting gone too far? Or something that didn’t like its story being retold?
For a film marketed as “based on true events,” The Conjuring (2013) blurred the line between fiction and reality in a way that left even its creators unsettled.
Sometimes, the scariest part of horror… isn’t the movie.
