AMWould you wear a prosthetic leg if you had to take it off every time you go to the bathroom?
Welcome to my life. I've been wearing prosthetic legs for over 40 years, and what can I say.... prosthetics are not a perfect solution and there are definitely trade-offs🤷🏼♀️
Recently, a new amputee told me she doesn't want to wear her prosthetic leg because of the annoyance of taking it on and off every time she goes to the bathroom. To be honest, I've been doing this for so long, I don't even think about it.
Also, please note, this is not a universal fact for all leg amputees as the length of the residual limb and type of prosthetic really impacts so many aspects of our daily lives differently.
