TUApple Pie with Sweet Vanilla Sauce
Ingredients
For the Filling:
2 tbsp butter
7-8 apples (4 pounds)
2 tbsp lemon juıce
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tbsp pumpkin spice
1 tsp lemon zest
1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch+2 tbsp water
For the Egg Wash:
1 egg
1 tbsp milk
For the Top
2 tbsp sugar
For the Sweet Vanilla Sauce:
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup half and half
3 tbsp granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla bean or vanilla extract.
Note: The recipe is too long so I was only able to add here apple filling and vanilla sauce recipe. Please see the caption of the Banana Cream Pie Reel for the / pie crust recipe❤️
Instructions:
Peel, cut in half, core, and slice the apples. Transfer the apple slices into a large bowl. Toss the apples with lemon juice, add the sugars and toss to combine them.
In a large pan, melt the butter and transfer the apple mixture into the pan. Cook until almost soft.
In a small bowl, add cornstarch and water and mix until the cornstarch dissolves. Add the mixture to the apple sauce and cook by stirring until soft for 4-5 min.
Remove from the heat, sprinkle with spices. Set aside and cool completely.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Divide the dough into two pieces. Using a rolling pin, roll each piece of dough into a 12-inch circle (at least 2 inches larger than the pie pan). Unroll the dough into the pie pan and gently press the pie pan as in the IG Reel.
Add the cool filling to the pie crust and spread with a spatula. Cut the other piece of the dough into strips and lattice the top as in the IG reel.
Lightly brush the top of the pie with the egg wash and sprinkle the top with granulated sugar.
Bake for 40-45 min until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool for 4-5 hours at room temp.
For the vanilla sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and cornstarch.
In a medium saucepan, add milk and half and half. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

KAVandaag deze heerlijke Kinder Bueno taart gemaakt 🍫
Zacht, romig en vol chocolade… precies zoals hij hoort te zijn 😍
1. Bodem maken:
Vermaal koekjes + hazelnoten fijn en meng met gesmolten boter. Druk stevig in een beklede springvorm. (Ook de zijkant)
2. Roomlaag:
Meng mascarpone met hazelnootpasta tot een romige laag (zo kort mogelijk mengen) Verdeel over de koekjesbodem.
3. Topping:
Verwarm slagroom bijna tot kookpunt. Voeg witte chocolade toe, roer tot een gladde ganache. Laat iets afkoelen en giet over de taart. Doe wat hazelnoot pasta verdelen over de bovenkant en maak een swirl met saté prikker.
4. Koelen:
Laat minimaal 6 uur (bij voorkeur een nacht) opstijven in de koelkast.
5. Afwerking:
Versier met slagroomtoefjes, hazelnoten & kinder bueno.
Ingrediënten:
195 gram roomboter
210 gram petit beurre koekjes
45 gram hazelnoten
500 gram mascarpone
160 gram hazelnoot pasta
90 gram slagroom
180 gram witte chocolade
30 gram hazelnoot pasta
Slagroom voor garnering
Fijn gehakte hazelnoten voor garnering
Kinder bueno voor garnering
