The deaths of Payal Tadvi and Rohith Vemula are not isolated tragedies; they are stark reminders of how deeply caste prejudice is embedded in spaces that claim to be meritocratic and progressive.
The opposition to UGC regulations under the claim that casteism no longer exists is is a reflection of fear. Fear of accountability. Fear of losing unearned privilege.
Denial becomes a tool to protect caste power, not to uphold equality. If caste truly did not exist, there would be no resistance to safeguards meant to address it.
If you believe education must be a space of dignity, not discrimination, speak up. Question denial, support structural reforms, and stand with those demanding justice and equal access in our institutions. Silence only protects the rot.
