If you’re over arching your rib cage, which is common when your maximizing effort during a press, you’re going to be putting your shoulders and low back in a compromised position. It doesn’t necessarily mean you will have pain, but over time people start to acquire some “dings” we’ll call it 😉 This exercise will help you stay more aligned, put your shoulders and back in a better position to maximize effort efficiently, and the resistance from the cables will better challenge the targeted muscles for more concentrated stimulation.
