1 No induction , baby comes when “baby” is ready (you can push back, it’s your body & your choice) only 5% of babies arrive on their “estimated” due date🤦🏻♀️
2 No epidural , I trust my body to do what it was designed to do without numbing the physiological process (which can cause more complications/interventions/side effects)
3 No pain relief, I’m using breathing techniques, over pain relief medication.
4 No “continuous” fetal monitoring , I want freedom, not wires (continuously)
5 No lying flat on my back, movement and gravity does miracles. I specifically asked for a water birth and warm running water (in the hospital shower)
6 No restricted movement, I’ll labor how I need to, when I need to.
7 No immediate cord clamping , we’re letting that golden blood flow (I waited 30-40mins until the cord was white and all the blood transferred to my baby)
8 No eye ointment, I want my baby to see me clearly without chemicals in their eyes.
9 No hepatitis B shot at birth or ever.
10 No vitamin K shot
11 No newborn bath for the first 3 days, that vernix is gold and protection for the skin.
12 No swaddling, skin-to-skin is our love language which will help calm my baby, increase oxytocin and create a bond.
13 No separation , unless with the presence of my husband or mum, my baby stays with me at all times

Remember, the system can’t force you, they will pressure and try to convince you that they know what’s “best” but you need to remember mama, this is your birth and you do it the way you feel safe, the system is risk focused and what “could go wrong” but your body was designed by a higher power to birth naturally
