IMI DON’T WANT IT ENOUGH. 🤷🏽♀️
this is the realest revelation i’ve had yet and it needs to be said.
i’m so grateful for the way that my supporters want more for me, and we know that there’s so much more to come! just please understand that my version of success looks a lot different than the version that is promoted in the industry.
i’m open to elevation and to receiving everything God has for me, but i do not NEED the spotlight— nor am i in pursuit of it. so you won’t see me going for the same things. my path is gonna look a lot different.
i just wanna make fire art with my friends fr lol. everything else is everything else.
i think it’s important that we begin to redefine our own ideas of success instead of adopting the versions that have been systematically and culturally placed upon us.
to me, success means joy, quality art, deep resonance, financial abundance, true love, strong community, creative collaboration, self embodiment, and independent thought. and i’ve got all of that already.
i’m inspired by artists like andre 3000, beyonce, kendrick lamar, j cole, erykah badu, and missy elliot— not only because of the quality of their craft, but because of the way they balance being heroes with being human.
i’m not ducking superstardom, nor am i chasing it. because honestly, i just don’t want it enough! 🤷🏽♀️
