The Croods continue their quest for a new home, facing dangerous creatures along the way.
Grug, concerned about the budding romance between his daughter Eep and Guy, leads the family to a walled paradise, only to be captured by its residents, the Bettermans, who were friends of Guy's late parents.
The Bettermans, technologically advanced and condescending, try to separate Guy from the Croods, believing he belongs with them.
Tensions arise, leading to the Croods deciding to leave, with Guy staying behind.
However, the situation worsens when the Punch Monkeys capture Grug, Guy, and Phil, revealing that Phil's irrigation project has deprived them of their water and bananas needed to appease the Spiny Mandrilla, a gigantic creature.
The remaining Croods and Bettermans, who form "The Thunder Sisters," reconcile their differences and rescue the captives. Together, they defeat the Spiny Mandrilla.
In the end, the Bettermans invite the Croods to live as neighbors, and Guy and Eep share a room, while the Punch Monkeys become their new neighbors.
