COTS rover, just running it around. Originally controlled through an app, but I paired a PlayStation controller and mapped the inputs instead. Controller input is handled over Bluetooth through the ESP32, with commands passed to the Arduino handling low-level control. Current setup is a split architecture: ESP32 for comms (Bluetooth/WiFi) and input handling, Arduino for motor control, PWM output, and direct interface with the motor driver. Differential drive with independent left/right motor control, basic sensor support, and standard GPIO expansion. I’ve been working on a couple of robot arms, but some of the code is still compiling, so I spent some time on this. Added foil around parts of the chassis and closed it out slightly to see how layout and routing behave once it’s not fully open. Nothing advanced, just working through control mapping, signal flow, and system interaction. #engineering #robotics #aerospace #stem #systemsengineering
