The most common question I get asked is, “What did you study to be able to make all of these things?” While a background in mechanical or electrical engineering is immensely helpful, I didn’t have either!
Some basic understanding of the physics + a step-by-step kit like the Arduino Starter Kit R4 is all you need to start your journey in making electronics projects.

- cd /boot - (got me into the root directory )
- sudo nano config.txt -(opened editor the file )
- edit hdmi found from the lcd screen wiki page
I am a computer science and information security major so I was able to get it quick but if you are an ultra beginner just be patient and follow instructions
. Think of it like you are baking a cake if you miss an ingredient you won’t end up with cake 😂

I’ve been wanting to build a portable pocket computer—a simple DIY cyberdeck—for years, and I finally got around to making one! This project, sometimes called a pocket terminal or "Termyte," uses a Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 Touch display, Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, PiSugar 3 battery, Adafruit KB2040 microcontroller, and an Xbox 360 Chatpad keyboard. The case is super easy to 3D print (no supports needed!), making it a great open source hardware project for beginners and experienced makers alike. I think it’s a really solid proof of concept for the kinds of handheld computers and hacker gadgets I want to make next. In this video, I do a quick teardown and reassembly of the "Termyte" cyberdeck, showing all the parts, the 3D printed case, and the modular components. I’ll have a full build guide and step-by-step tutorial coming soon—so if you want to learn how to make your own Raspberry Pi cyberdeck or portable Linux terminal, stay tuned! JUYou’ve all been asking what’s inside my custom cyberdeck build, so today I’m walking you through the internal structure.
I’m using a @raspberrypi 4B with a MakerFocus V3P UPS that boosts my battery to 5V. There’s still a good deal of space left on the battery side, so I plan to increase it to around 20,000 mah eventually. The screen is a 7” UHD display with great brightness, but it draws a lot of power.
This entire build was my first time putting something like this together after many years of wanting to build my own custom cyberdeck. I’m super thankful for all of your support throughout the year and hope to do a few more simple LCD screen builds soon! If you want the full component list, you know where to look.
Maybe I’ll start doing more custom painted cyberpunk cases for these down the line if there’s interest! I’ve already made a few of these for my different costumes.
