EMBecause dancing is also about having fun 😅!!! This dance improvisation was part of a pro show where we were randomly drawing a partner and a song! They started to play the #macarena... not the tunes I'm usually comfortable freestyling on, but luckily @jordancer98 managed to create the space for it to happen! I would have never imagined that it would become my most viral dance video but I'm grateful it helped spread the magic and fun of West Coast Swing!

Any dance improvisation consists of such elements as⠀
☑️creativity⠀
☑️technique⠀
☑️musicality⠀
☑️emotions⠀
⠀
As a beginner dancer you may not yet have strong technique or a big movement vocabulary. These two elements come with time and practice (☝️note: active practice).⠀

💁♀️But you still can hear the music. 💁♀️You still can feel emotions. 💁♀️You still can be creative even with limited movement vocabulary.⠀
⠀
So don’t let those doubts stop you! I actually think that working on improvisation skills should be mandatory from the very beginning. This way you won’t get stuck with paying attention only to the technique but will discover the essence of dance in much fuller and richer ways!🤗😘❤️
