Yesterday I visited one of the biggest data centers in Europe! 🌍 Microsoft’s Dublin data center powers cloud services and AI services for businesses, governments and organisations across Ireland, the UK and much of Northern Europe. Hyperscale data centers like this one can host tens of thousands, and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of servers! What I found insane wasn’t actually the number of servers, it was the huge amount of infrastructure (power, cooling, etc) that helps to keep this data center running. Thanks to @microsoft for inviting me on the tour! ❤️

The Mikrotik router, two D-Link datacenter switches, and my main server are all upgraded to full 100 Gb connectivity. Alongside the core network, I also deployed a second 20 Gb network using Zyxel hardware for isolated traffic. Core design highlights: • 100Gb QSFP28 backbone • VLAN segmentation for Lab / Storage / Management • Independent 20Gb network for security and routing scenarios Hardware Used • Mikrotik ROSE Data Server (RDS) – main router/firewall handling routing, BGP, and L3 • Zyxel USG 700H – security gateway for the secondary network, VPN & UTM • D-Link DXS-3610-54S/SI/E – 10/25/100Gb L3 switch for Core/Distribution • HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen11 with 4× NVIDIA SFP28 – server with four 25 Gb links (LAG/LACP for 100 Gb aggregates) #homelab #networking #100GbE #QSFP28 #server

Here are the 3 types of projects you need: ↳Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Exploring a dataset to uncover insights through descriptive statistics (averages, ranges, distributions) and data visualization, including analyzing relationships between variables ↳Full Stack Data Analytics Project: An end-to-end project that covers the entire data pipeline: wrangling data from a database, cleaning and transforming it. It demonstrates proficiency across multiple tools, not just one. ↳Funnel Analysis: Tracking users or items move from point A to point B, and how many make it through each step in between.
