Let’s talk about the second thing I did right — researching the topic itself.
Once I had my country profile ready, I went deep into understanding the agenda.
Instead of random Googling, I broke my research down into five clear parts:
→ Definition / Context – What exactly does the topic mean and why does it matter right now?
→ Historical Background & Causes – How did we get here? What events shaped this issue?
→ Contemporary Affairs – What’s happening today that connects to this topic?
→ Impact – Who’s affected and how? Economically, politically, socially?
→ International Actions (to date) – What has the UN, major countries, or blocs already done?
This structure helped me stay focused, confident, and strategic — because I wasn’t just speaking, I understood the full story behind every clause.
