DAThe Korg Electribe series (introduced in 1999) marked a significant turning point at the end of the millennium where more and more musicians were beginning to self-produce their own electronic music. These devices were geared towards hands-on interaction and even if you’re never produced electronic music yourself, chances are likely that you’ve seen these floating around stages somewhere.
Here I’m giving both the ER-1 (red; drum synth) and the EA-1 (blue; melodics) a short techno workout into a decent amount of master compression. Unfortunately I could never trust these things in a live show because sometimes the settings just randomly change all parameters. Could be due to age or simply hauntings from ghosts of raves past.
