The "magic" you see in this clip is a synchronized dance of four massive thrust components:
1️⃣ The 3BSD Nozzle: The main engine nozzle (Three-Bearing Swivel Duct) can pivot 90 degrees downward in just 2.5 seconds, redirecting massive amounts of hot thrust toward the ground. [1, 20]
2️⃣ The Stealthy Lift Fan: Behind the cockpit, a massive counter-rotating fan opens up to provide nearly 20,000 lbs of cold-air thrust, perfectly balancing the nose of the jet. [1, 2]
3️⃣ Roll Posts: Two smaller nozzles under the wings bleed air from the engine to provide minute, lightning-fast stability adjustments so the jet doesn't tip. [2]
4️⃣ The Flight Brain: The pilot doesn't manually "balance" the jet; a high-speed flight computer manages all these components simultaneously, allowing the aircraft to hover with rock-solid precision. [2]
Why it’s a Game Changer: ⚓️
Because it doesn't need a massive runway, the F-35B allows the U.S. Marine Corps and allies to operate from small amphibious assault ships or even cleared highway strips in the middle of nowhere. [10, 13]

PTAfter being grounded for over a month in Kerala, a British F-35B Lightning fighter jet has finally taken off from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The advanced Royal Navy aircraft had made an emergency landing on June 14 due to a hydraulic issue. The F-35B is part of the UK’s HMS Prince of Wales carrier fleet.
