Same workout. Two ways. You don’t need perfect conditions to get a strong, effective Pilates workout in. This is the same series, just two different setups: • Oblique knee tap > single leg stretch • Jackrabbit > push-up • Oblique pike > plank with hip abduction • Bear crawls • Double leg hip extension The reformer gives you resistance, feedback, flow. The foam roller? Instability, control, and a whole lot of honesty. Either way your: • Obliques are firing • Deep core is switching on • Shoulders are stabilising • Glutes are working It doesn’t always have to be about the equipment. Adding the foam roller literally lit my low abs on fire. Thank you to my IG bestie @thebellemethod for giving me the idea to use the foam roller as a core prop. She is Pilates baddie, so I knew it would burn. This definitely takes those heel taps up a notch. If you are more newly postpartum, I’d start without the foam roller. I love the foam roller because it adds some gravity assistance and takes pressure off the pelvic floor. Plus it really helps you dig into that range of motion. I will not be looking back. Me and the foam roller are BFFs now. THE WORKOUT 1. Heel drops, 20 reps alternating 2. Crossbody reaches, 10 each 3. 1 leg extensions, 10 each 4. Roll outs, 10 total Rest 45 seconds. Repeat 1-2 more times! This is an amazing core workout and perfect for helping really improve diastasis recti, while also being mindful of the pelvic floor. Not gonna lie, the added range of motion really tested my old c-section scarring. There is certainly a component of mobility and I feel like this was just what my body needed. Pretty cool and fun to still be learning all kinds of ways to train with different ab exercises. #diastasisrecti #lowtummy #mommytummy #abexercises #foamroller #homeabs #coreworkout #postpartumfitness

Open your chest, sit taller, and breathe deeper with this cactus stretch on a foam roller🌵 Great for those of us who spend a lot of time in a forward posture position…think driving, sitting at a desk, riding your bike etc. It is good to keep the thoracic spine mobile and allows the shoulders and chest to open up which in turn can help with our breathing mechanics. Foam roller should be placed at your mid to upper back, gently allow yourself to let gravity pull you towards the ground. You might not reach the floor, that’s okay, with practice you can get there. It might be helpful to put a pillow under your head at first if it’s too uncomfortable. Hold: 30secs to 1min. And can increase to 5mins when you feel comfortable. Daily or 3–5×/wk. Nose breath to the belly and sides of your ribs, not the upper chest. #CactusStretch #FoamRoller #PostureFix #breathebetter
