MOGuy Ritchie is notoriously obsessed with how his characters look before he even dives into their depth. Most of the costumes in the series are custom-made. Specifically, the outfits for Theo James’s character, Eddie Horniman, were inspired by authentic Savile Row tailors like Huntsman to perfectly mirror the British aristocracy. Ritchie is well-known for halting production mid-scene if he isn’t satisfied with how a jacket hangs on an actor, often calling in a tailor on the spot to fix the fit.

To prepare Charlie Hunnam for his role, Ritchie took him clothing shopping to get a feel for his character. The tracksuits Colin Farrell and his gang wear were custom. Hugh Grant revealed on The Graham Norton Show that he had not met Matthew McConaughey during the shoot of The Gentlemen (2019). In fact, the first time they met was on that same Graham Norton show.
The pint glasses in the film bear the name "Lore of the Land," a pub owned by director Guy Ritchie (with footballer David Beckham) in Fitzrovia, central London.
