Hogsback, Eastern Cape - Amatola 6-day Trail Hoe kwam ik hierop? 2 dagen voordat ik naar Hogsback ging even snel opgezocht hoe of wat er te doen was en anders zou ik Hogsback skippen. Ik herinnerde me vaag iets van een hike of iets in die richting en besloot om ze te mailen of t kon. Ze zeiden dat ik geluk had dat er een groep was uitgevallen, want normaal gesproken moet je dit een jaar van te voren booken. Nadat ik betaald had en de eerste dag in Hogsback verbleef kwam ik erachter dat ik eigenlijk niks mee had voor een 6-day hike behalve sportkleding en een backpack en dat dit ook nog eens de "toughest hike of South Africa" is. Na wat hulp van @awaywiththefairieshogsback_ en de andere backpackers heb ik t makkelijk gehaald. Hierna heb ik wel weer wat moeten aan eten, ben namelijk rond de 4 kilo afgevallen :((( #backpacking #easterncape #trail #southafrica #amatolatrail #hogsback #hiking #adventure

We only started hiking at 10am, after a two-hour drive through beautiful villages from Hogsback. We ventured to Hogsback trail on Wednesday and caught a gorgeous sunset while admiring the crocus. Please remember, leave what you find, do not remove any of the flowers! The prairie crocus was adopted as the official flower of Manitoba in 1906. It’s famous for its views and extreme exposure. One of those trails where the harder you brake, the faster you go, and the cliffs on either side add a little extra to the fun factor. This is why I love @visitdurango. So happy to be back, unpack the van, and shred again with friends.
